George Stevens, Rockford, former member of the Rockford School Board (1987-1992), retired speech pathologist, and past Administrative Law Judge for the Illinois Department of Public Health, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Smeja Homestead Foundation, the private foundation that owns and operates Indian Hill Manor & Farm Historic Site, located at 6901 Kishwaukee Road, southwest of Rockford.

Stevens was born and raised near Stillman Valley, graduated from Stillman Valley High School, is a member of the SVH FFA Alumni Association, and served as Chairman of the Advisory Board for Indian Hill Manor & Farm from 2009 to the present.  He lives with his wife Ann in Rockford.

Indian Hill Manor & Farm is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and is open for group tours, business and community meetings.
